Anxiety Disorder is a broad based category of mental disorder. This category can include a range of conditions such as obsessive compulsive disorder, post traumatic stress disorder, social phobia, general anxiety disorder or any specific phobia. This list is by no means exhaustive, but it does contain the most commonly encountered causes of Anxiety Disorder. Regardless of the category of anxiety disorder, these conditions require professional assistance and necessitate the use of clinical and therapeutic treatment. This is where my expertise in Brisbane can assist you. I have a systematic approach to engaging with my patients’ problems, and assist them with a clinical counselling session that initially introduces them to their issues. I then show them how to deal with and confront those conflicting issues, with the absence of fear or phobia. It has been proven medically that when people confront their fear repeatedly without the negative results that they actually feared, the sense of unreasoning phobia would soon disappear. This methodology not only helps to change the mental framework of a person in a natural manner, but also helps to build back lost confidence and sensitivity towards the self.
In more severe cases some clients will require some form of chemical corrective therapy to accompany the counselling sessions needed to remove the underpinning conditions that keep phobia and anxiety in place.
